This training, Engaging Nevada's Diverse Communities, was developed to support the Nevada Department of Agriculture staff in fostering equitable, respectful, and culturally responsive engagement with the public. Grounded in the legal requirements of Nevada Senate Bills 318 of the 2021 Nevada Legislative Session and Senate Bill 109, this session goes beyond compliance to emphasize real-world strategies for inclusive communication. Nevada’s demographic richness—across language, geography, ability, and culture—requires thoughtful outreach practices and ongoing reflection. This course invites participants to build their cultural humility, practice ethical communication, and confidently navigate interactions in a way that builds trust, especially with historically underserved or marginalized communities. Whether staff are providing services in the field or working with colleagues, this training equips them with the tools to lead with curiosity, compassion, and competence.
